Choose NDI cameras by the job they need to perform: follow a presenter, cover a stage from a fixed viewpoint, or capture an outdoor event. Compare the exact model, NDI format and activation included in the listing before building a multicamera system.
PTZ tracking, fixed POV or outdoor coverage?
Tracking and reframing: the OBSBOT Tail 2 listing below includes NDI activation and a Smart Remote. Its HDMI, USB and IP connections support different workflows; its 3G-SDI output is limited to Full HD. Fixed viewpoints: the AIDA HD-NDI-X20 combines Full HD video with 20x optical zoom. Outdoor productions: the AIDA PTZ4KWP-NDI3-X30 offers weatherproof PTZ operation and NDI HX3. Check each product for its power requirements and installation limits.
What to check before choosing an NDI camera
Start with the required output resolution and frame rate, then confirm the format on the connection you will actually use. Check optical zoom and field of view against the camera position, tracking behavior against the subject, and whether the model uses PoE, PoE+ or PoE++. Confirm that your receiving software or decoder supports the camera’s NDI format and current firmware.
NDI High Bandwidth and NDI HX variants have different bandwidth and decoding requirements. “IP camera” alone does not establish NDI compatibility. Likewise, a USB webcam needs a compatible encoder to become an NDI source; a USB-to-Ethernet adapter by itself does not encode video.
Connect NDI cameras to an existing system
For an HDMI camera, the Kiloview N6 is an HDMI/NDI encoder-decoder option. For camera positioning and alternative connections, browse PTZ cameras and POV cameras.
Planning the production
Use wired networking where practical and size the network for all simultaneous sources, outputs and other traffic. Tell us how many cameras you need and whether the destination is software, a hardware switcher or an HDMI/SDI monitor so we can help identify the required interfaces.
