That term can refer to several different jobs: distributing network traffic, converting SDI signals, or selecting routes between sources and destinations. Network and compatibility checklist
Confirm link speed, available bandwidth, multicast handling, PTP synchronization and NMOS discovery and connection management where supported. Check whether each UHD path uses uncompressed video or Blackmagic IP10 and whether the receiving endpoint supports that format. The Ethernet connector alone does not establish interoperability.
NDI, SMPTE ST 2110 and internet contribution protocols are separate workflows. A device supporting one does not automatically translate the others. Plan the converter or gateway, timing and control path needed at each boundary.
