Professional HDMI and SDI Video Encoding

The Kiloview E3 HDMI & SDI Dual Channel Video Encoder is designed for live production, remote transmission, and live streaming applications. It provides both HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs, allowing professional video sources to be encoded and transmitted over IP networks.

The HDMI input supports video signals up to UHD 4K at 30 fps, while the 3G-SDI input supports resolutions up to 1080p60. Both inputs can be encoded using H.264 and H.265, with encoding up to 1080p60.

Dual-Channel Video Workflow

The E3 can encode video sources from HDMI and 3G-SDI independently, mix both sources into a single output using Picture-in-Picture or Picture-by-Picture modes, or encode both HDMI and SDI sources simultaneously at up to 1080p60.

The HDMI and SDI connections also provide loop outputs, allowing the incoming video signal to continue through the production workflow while the E3 handles encoding and IP transmission.

Multi-Platform Streaming

The E3 supports a broad range of IP streaming protocols, including NDI|HX2, NDI|HX3, SRT, RTMP, RTMPS, HLS, TS over UDP, RTP, RTSP, UDP, and ONVIF. The encoder can simultaneously stream to up to 16 different destinations, with eight main 1080p streams and eight sub-streams at 720p.

H.265/HEVC encoding provides high-efficiency video compression while maintaining image quality at lower bitrates.

Audio Encoding and Processing

The E3 accepts analog audio through a 3.5mm line input and can also receive embedded digital audio through HDMI and 3G-SDI. B&H specifies eight-channel embedded audio encoding for SDI inputs and four-channel embedded audio encoding for HDMI inputs.

The unit supports audio encoding formats including AAC, G.711, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and Opus. Additional audio functions include audio de-embedding, channel selection, alternate channel selection, and audio output mapping.

Recording and Monitoring

The E3 can record its inputs in MOV or MP4 format through its USB ports or NAS storage. An integrated 1.14-inch LCD display provides real-time information regarding connectivity, IP address, CPU, memory, resolution, temperature, and tally status.

For network connectivity, the E3 features an RJ45 LAN connection with PoE support. Power over Ethernet can provide power through a single Ethernet cable, helping reduce cable clutter in a production environment.
