The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G is a video capture and playback interface designed for broadcast production and live replay workflows. It connects to a computer through Thunderbolt 4 and supports simultaneous, real-time bidirectional video transfer, allowing video to be captured through its SDI input while video is output from the computer through its SDI connections.

Simultaneous Video Capture and Playback

The UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G uses the same software as Blackmagic Design DeckLink capture cards. Its driver supports simultaneous video capture and playback with extremely low latency, making it suitable for workflows that require live video input and real-time output.

DaVinci Resolve Live Replay

The device supports live action replay workflows in DaVinci Resolve. Its replay features include a multi-source viewer for browsing clips that match in time, as well as on-air controls for single-button automated playout and an automatic stinger function.

12G-SDI Connectivity

The UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G features one 12G-SDI input and three 12G-SDI outputs designated for program, key, and fill. The key and fill outputs support real-time alpha channel conversion to 10-bit 12G-SDI for broadcast graphics workflows.

High-Quality Video Processing

The Thunderbolt 4 interface supports high video resolutions, deep color-bit depths, and 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 formats. The device supports 10-bit uncompressed video for broadcast-oriented production workflows.

Software Compatibility

The UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G works with a range of video applications through its DeckLink API. Supported software listed includes Open Broadcaster, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Media Composer, Premiere Pro, Fusion, After Effects, and Photoshop.
